Haryana, a state of Northern India was once the home of legendary Bharata dynasty from which got the name Bharat to India became one of the the state of India on 1st November 1966. The capital of Haryana is Chandigarh which is also administered as a union territory and the capital of Punjab. The state is bound by Uttar Pradesh in the east, Punjab in the west, Himachal Pradesh in the north and Rajasthan in the south. National Capital Territory of Delhi juts into Haryana. The city of gurgoan is emerging as a major hub for the Information industry. The internationally famous Surajkund Crafts Mela is held every year in the month of February, to promote Indian arts and handicrafts.
